All Oregon counties will hold primary elections on May 19, 2026. In Polk County, this includes 4 non-partisan races: Polk County Commission positions 2 and 3, Salem City Mayor and Salem City Council representing West Salem.
Three ways to vote:
- By mail: To ensure your ballot is postmarked before 8:00pm election day, we encourage voters to mail ballots in EARLY—by May 12. No postage is needed. You may request a hand-stamped postmark at your local post office.
- By Drop Box: Use a secure community drop box before 8:00pm on election day. Polk County drop box locations are open April 29 – May 19.

Reminders:
You can register to vote, change your party affiliation, and track your ballot through the
Secretary of State’s website. The deadline to register or change party affiliation is April 28th. All voters will get to vote in non-partisan races, but only Democrats may vote in partisan races.
